Winterthur is the first city of study in Switzerland and the second centre of the Greater Zurich Area. Many multinational companies such as Google, Zimmer Biomet, Burckhardt Compressions, Microsoft, UBS, Givaudan, AXA and many more operate large entities in the Greater Zurich Area.
Since 2014, the City of Winterthur hosted three times the biennial International Congress on Vocational and Professional Education and Training.
Korea has proofed to be one of the major economies in the world being home of many Multi National companies. For already 40 years, technical and vocational education and training has widely been credited for effectively supporting the rapid economic growth in Korea. During the 1960s and 1970s, TVET was geared towards providing initial training for large populations of learners to meet rising labour demands.
As “Zürich meets Seoul” in September / October 2019, we truly like to use the opportunity to share and exchange insights and an economic assessment regarding the world of vocational education and its importance to economic competitiveness in the future. Together with Seoul Metropolitan Government, we would like to invite representatives and decision-makers from politics, economy and education.
